Nautica – Things from Ships and the Sea

Nautica is a classic collector’s category, and this auction features several items from various traditional subcategories, such as ship portraits, binnacles, interior furnishings with provenance from a couple of different vessels, a marine chronometer, and much more.

The standout item in this themed auction is a real, full-scale (1:1) boat – which perhaps doesn’t quite fit neatly into the collector's category of 'Nautica'. At the same time, it boasts a fantastic hull shape and serves as a direct link to our Nordic Viking ships that once cleaved through the seas. The boat in question is the smallest type of Nordland boat from Northern Norway. A tororing, also known as a færing or kjeks. A traditional rowing boat for one or two people, intended for calmer inshore waters.

Enjoy!
